The victim in a Sunday shooting in Emeryville near the city's Amtrak station remained in critical condition Friday night, police said. Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Emeryville Police Department's Criminal Investigations Section at 596-3774.

He wrote Judge Carmen Mullen backed the stance of Quinn's lawyers over legal precedent and conduct during the guilty plea and sentencing hearings "fly in the face" of state and constitutional law.

Suspended District 3 Columbia City Councilman Moe Baddourah also has been affected by an apparent scam in which someone has been opening or attempting to open fraudulent bank accounts in the names of City Council members and senior city staff members. At least four City Council members have now been affected by the alleged scheme, and City Manager Teresa Wilson is among upper level city officials who have been victimized.
