Volusia-Flagler homeless numbers plummet 70% since 2012

DAYTONA BEACH -The number of homeless people in Volusia and Flagler counties has decreased by more than 70 percent since 2012, a recent homeless count found.  According to figures just released, the count in January found 683 homeless people in the two counties, a little more than 25 percent of the 2,384 unsheltered people found six years ago.The 2018 count was also about a 10 percent decrease from 2017, when 753 homeless individuals were tallied.
