Blotter: Denton police arrest alleged meth distributor in Lewisville

Denton police investigators found a Bersa .380 handgun, 115 grams of methamphetamine, about 3 grams of tar heroin and a ballistic vest at the home of a known drug distributor in Lewisville, according to a Denton police arrest affidavit. Kyle Fuchs, 32, was arrested Tuesday on charges of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and unlawful possession of body armor by a felon.

The man fatally shot by Denton police Monday has been identified as 45-year-old Lawrence Shaw, who was originally from California but spent time in several other states before the shooting, officials said. Troy Taylor, Denton chief death investigator and spokesman for the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office, said Shaw's family in California hasn't seen him since the earl 1990s.
