Fairfield man accused of burglary spree postpones hearing

A Fairfield man accused of five late night break-ins of five local businesses decided Tuesday to postpone his probable cause hearing. John F. Scharff, 32, was arrested earlier this month for the string of business burglaries that started the night of Jan. 28. Police believe Scharff used the same technique in each of the burglaries, allegedly using a pellet gun to shatter the window glass in the front doors of each business then looting what he could find before fleeing.
