Two people were sent to the hospital following an accident in Odessa on Sunday evening. It happened at the intersection of Faudree Rd. and Highway 80. Police tell us it appears two cars were involved and two people were sent to the hospital.

Man gets life sentence for shooting 2 West Texas officers

A man has been sentenced to life in prison after a West Texas jury convicted him of attempted capital murder in the 2015 shooting of two police officers at an apartment complex. The Ector County jury found Roy Daniel Garza guilty Friday of two counts of attempted capital murder and he was sentenced shortly afterward.

5 killed in 3-vehicle crash near Andrews

The Texas Department of Public Safety says its troopers were sent to the crash scene Sunday night at an intersection on the desert outskirts of Andrews. A DPS statement Tuesday said 27-year-old Augustin Lujan ran a stop sign in his Ford Mustang and slammed into the side of a northbound semitrailer, pushing it into a southbound F-150 pickup truck.

Woman killed in Odessa crash identified

Police said an investigation revealed that a red Ford van, being operated by Carlos Zeijas, 21 years of age, of Odessa, was traveling eastbound on 2nd Street attempting to turn northbound on Vine. A tan Ford Expedition, being operated by Joanna Thompson, 47 years of age, was traveling westbound on 2nd Street.
