About: palm bay, florida

Palm Bay is located along Florida's coast along the Atlantic Ocean. The original inhabitants of Palm Bay were the Timucuan Indians, who were attracted by the fresh water springs, fish, oysters, and wildlife. Europeans did not begin to settle in the area until the 1850s. About a century later, a lumbering factory, packing house, and orange groves had been built. Growth continued to be slow to the region until the introduction of the railroad in 1894, which allowed farmers and factory owners to ship their goods and produce faster.
