Bicyclist left in critical condition after he is struck by car in Taylor

A man riding his bicycle on Pelham Road near Kinyon Avenue was struck by a car at about 8:15 p.m. Dec. 10. The 51-year-old Monroe man, was not identified by police. As of Dec. 12 he remained in critical condition at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn.

Old runway at Detroit Metropolitan Airport to get overhaul

The Detroit News reports airport officials hosted an informational meeting Thursday in Taylor for area residents and others about the reconstruction of runway 3L-21R and its taxiways. The estimated $240 million project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2019 and wrap up by winter 2020.

Solo fatal I-880 crash victim identified

The Alameda County Sheriff's Officer coroner's bureau has named a Michigan man killed in an apparent solo crash on Interstate 880 early Sunday. Jajuan Morton, 23, of Taylor, Michigan, died after the white Dodge Charger sedan he was driving veered to the right side of the roadway before striking a pole and catching fire, the California Highway Patrol said.
