New Northwest Suburban Police Station Damaged

The brand new police station in Arlington Heights has been damaged and an out-of-state driver is in critical condition. The northwest suburb just spent almost $30 million on a police station and authorities say, around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, a man from Georgia was speeding on Sigwalt Street when he lost control, the car flipped over and then came to rest near the station entrance.

Officials say a car went out of control and crashed into a Chicago suburb's new police station, badly injuring the driver. Arlington Heights police say crews had to free the 44-year-old driver from inside the wreckage and he was taken to a hospital in critical condition after the Sunday evening crash.
