At-risk Athens man still missing after a week

James Johnson Jr., 73, is considered by Athens-Clarke County police to be at risk because he has an extensive history of medical issues, including dementia, Alzheimer's disease and high blood pressure. He was last seen at about 3 p.m. June 12 sitting on the steps of apartment at University Oaks, where he resided with a caretaker, police said.

Athens-Clarke County police continued on Tuesday investigating the weekend shooting death of a social worker in her eastside residence. Natania Jarrad, 30, was found dead at her home off Airport Road.

A 56-year-old Vincent Drive resident was arrested for alleged drunken driving Thursday night after his pickup truck was stopped for motor vehicle violations, Athens-Clarke County police said.
