Athens jail argument about LeBron James leads to prisoner's indictment

A prisoner at the Clarke County Jail was recently indicted for allegedly attacking a fellow inmate following an argument about NBA superstar LeBron James. During the alleged May 20 attack, Christopher Walden, 22, allegedly beat and strangled 18-year-old Alex Michael Mosby while they were both incarcerated at the jail off Lexington Road, according to the indictment filed Oct. 9 in Clarke County Superior Court.

Athens-Clarke County police offered on Tuesday a cash reward in an attempt to identify suspects in a home invasion armed robbery two weeks ago north of downtown. Additionally, police released a Georgia Bureau of Investigation forensic sketch artist's rendition of one of the four to five suspects in the armed robbery in the 400 block of Atlanta Avenue.

Following a chase involving a stolen car, Athens-Clarke County police arrested on Sunday two teens allegedly connected to a series of vehicle break-ins and gun thefts. The arrests came after a chase that ended when the stolen car ran over stop sticks an officer deployed, according to police.
