First-degree murder conviction reinstated for Battle Creek killer Friday, July 6

KALAMAZOO -- A Battle Creek man who was found guilty of first degree murder for assaulting and stabbing a mentally challenged Kalamazoo woman 29-times in her own apartment has had that conviction reinstated by the Michigan Supreme Court. In November of 2014, Christopher Oros was running a con on tenants at the Claybourne Apartment Complex on Kalamazoo's west side, posing as a fellow tenant claiming his girlfriend had left with his keys and credit card and he needed money to get to work.
