Four charged in plan to abduct, rape and murder young child

Two men and two women have been charged after investigators said they made a plan to abduct, rape and murder a young child. Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced Friday charges against 37-year-old David Bailey of Coldwater, 32-year-old Matthew Toole of Battle Creek, 32-year-old Talia Furman of Springfield and 19-year-old Jayme LaPointe of Athens.

Authorities say they arrested a parole absconder after two car chases and a foot chase in the Battle Creek area Sunday.
