In county Municipal Court Friday, a reckless operation charge filed against James D. Spencer, 26, of Salineville, was dismissed by the county prosecutor's office. Spencer had been cited by Salineville police on Oct. 6. In other court action, Jeff Riachy, 47, of East Liverpool, pleaded innocent to theft charges, and a pretrial hearing is scheduled for Jan. 17. Riachy is accused of smuggling a single can of liquor from the Circle K in East Palestine.

Police, federal agents arrest Canton woman, man

CANTON  Federal agents and the Canton Police Department's Gang Intelligence Unit arrested a homeless woman and a man on felony warrants at the Skyline Terrace apartment complex on Thursday. Ebony M. Black, 20, who is listed in Stark County Jail records as homeless, and Deandre K. Jenkins, 23, of the 900 block of 14th Street NE, were arrested at 11:52 a.m. in the 700 block of Alan Page Dr. SE by investigators with the unit and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the jail records show.

Canton man dies in single-vehicle crash

Ricky D. Feemster of the 1200 block of Dougherty Place NW in Canton, who was driving a Jeep Liberty, entered the northbound lane of the interstate from the Shuffel Road NW interchange shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday when he lost control and ran into a guardrail on the east side of the highway, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol. The cause of the crash still is under investigation.

A man died Thursday evening after he was hit by a truck in a Canton intersection, according to Canton police. Officers responded about 8:05 p.m. Thursday to the 4100 block of Tuscarawas Street West for a call about a car accident involving a pedestrian, police say.
