Dog killed in early-morning house fire in Daytona Beach

Firefighters were called to the blaze at 1336 N. Shangri La Dr. about 1 a.m. There were seven people inside the home when the fire began, officials said - five adults and two kids - but all had escaped before crews arrived at the scene. Small Elementary School, told the children - three 8-year-old girls and one 7-year-old girl - to stand and face the wall in the classroom because they were acting out, the arrest affidavit said.
