Edmond Missing/Runaway Teens Found Safe, Police Say

EDMOND, Oklahoma - Edmond Police say two teenage girls who went missing in October have been located and are safe.  Police said Shakira Russell, 13 and Tiara Russell, 15  ran away from their Edmond home  October 17. Both have been removed from the National crime Database as missing/runaways.  Both girls were adopted three years ago by Natalie and Kenneth Russell. They were shocked to discover their daughters ran away after just spending quality family time at the dinner table the night before.

OSBI Agent Accused Of Domestic Abuse

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says one of its own has been arrested for domestic abuse. Agent Martin P. Solorzano, 49, of Edmond, was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on Thursday, November 1. Solorzano has been a Special Agent with the OSBI since 2007, and is assigned to the OSBI's South Central Region.

DNA fails to exclude convicted Oklahoma killer from crime

Testing funded by attorneys for an Oklahoma death row inmate who was featured on the ABC television documentary series "The Last Defense" found his DNA matches that recovered on key evidence in the case. An attorney for Julius Jones said the test results do not mean his client was rightfully convicted in the 1999 slaying of Paul Howell, 45, and that investigators need to investigate other DNA profiles found on a red bandanna believed to have been worn by the killer.
