Former NFL tight end Kellen Winslow II pleaded not guilty Friday to charges that he allegedly kidnapped and raped two women and sexually assaulted three others in Encinitas over the past several months. Vista Superior Court Judge Robert Dahlquist said Windslow was a danger to the public and ordered him held without bail.

Claims against Assembly candidate 'unfounded,' say Sheriff's investigators

Accusations of battery against 76th Assembly District candidate Philip "Phil" Graham have been deemed "unfounded" by the San Diego County Sheriff 's Department. On May 20, a woman filed a report with the Sheriff's Department alleging that Graham "kissed her against her wishes" at the First Street Bar in Encinitas on May 14, then followed her outside the establishment after 1 a.m. and "attempted to have her touch him in a sexual manner."

A week after a woman accused an assembly candidate of battery in an Encinitas bar, an investigation by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department has found the allegation to be unsubstantiated.
