A 23-year-old Holland man will spend at least 12 years in prison in connection with a shooting on the city's east side last March. Justin D-Mario Mason was sentenced Monday, September 17 in Ottawa County Circuit Court to 12-to-20 years behind bars for shooting 25-year-old Jacob Adams as the victim was sitting in his parked car in front of a residence in the 300 block of Stratford Way last March 29. Authorities say Mason approached Adams, demanded items from the driver, then fired a handgun toward him after Adams refused to hand over the items.
