Suspect in Pride barricade incident identified

Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man accused of driving through a traffic barricade at the San Diego Pride event near Balboa Park and leading officers on a pursuit. San Diego police said a black Honda Odyssey minivan driven by Matthew Haney hit several barricades that were in place at the intersection of 6th Avenue and El Prado at about 10:30 p.m. on July 14. According to police, Haney struck the barricades and "drove directly towards a San Diego Special Event Traffic Controller," causing the traffic controller to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by the van.
