A formal allegation of sexual abuse by defrocked Deacon George Brignac has been filed to New Orleans police, the Archdiocese of New Orleans confirmed late Friday night. The Archdiocese of New Orleans has paid more than a half-million dollars to settle claims that a longtime deacon and teacher repeatedly raped The complaint accuses Brignac of abuse from 1979 through the early 1980s when Brignac was a deacon at Our Lady of Rosary Parish.
