Tesla sues ex-employee alleging data theft, leaks to media

Tesla is suing a former employee at its Nevada battery factory alleging that he hacked into the manufacturing computers and disclosed confidential trade secrets. The federal lawsuit filed Wednesday contends that Martin Tripp of Sparks, Nevada, also made false claims to the media about information he stole, including claims that the company used punctured battery cells in the Model 3 electric car.

A former employee hacked into computers at Tesla's Nevada battery factory, stole confidential information and combined it with falsehoods in leaks to the media, the electric car maker alleged in a federal lawsuit. Martin Tripp of Sparks, Nevada, admitted to Tesla investigators that he wrote software that transferred several gigabytes of data outside the company, including dozens of photographs and a video, according to the lawsuit filed Wednesday.

Sparks Mayor Named RGJ "Citizen of the Year"

The City of Sparks has chosen Geno Martini for mayor in every election since 2006 and Monday the Reno Gazette-Journal recognized him as its "Citizen of the Year." Sparks officials removing homeless camps along Truckee River

Homeless people who live along the Truckee River must find a different place to sleep at night after the city of Sparks has moved to enforce an ordinance that bans camping along the waterway. KRNV-TV reports the city on Monday began enforcing the ordinance that was introduced in March 2016.
