East Toledo man pleads to lesser murder charge in infant death case

An East Toledo man who fatally injured an infant pleaded guilty to a lesser murder charge Tuesday and was sentenced to life in prison. Zachery Shadix, 25, of the 1300 block of Felt Street, was originally charged with aggravated murder, felonious assault, and endangering children in connection to the Feb. 21 death of his girlfriend's daughter, Gabrielle Walker.
