Burglars who used rifle fire to blast their way into two Irondale businesses - including a Maserati dealership - also hit in Tuscaloosa the same day. The Irondale crimes happened beginning about 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, when police said the two black males went to Benchmark Maserati in the 1800 block of Grants Mill Road and, from about 20 to 30 feet away, opened fire to shatter the plate glass windows.

HIV-positive man arrested for spitting on Tuscaloosa nurse, police say

An Alabama man who police say is HIV-positive is accused of spitting on a nurse, telling her to "taste the last kiss of death." The Tuscaloosa News cites court records that say 28-year-old Montrel Dewaun Minor was charged with felony assault with bodily fluids after spitting on the nurse while being treated at the Northport Medical Center's emergency room last month.
